An Lusk

Artist Bio

I grew up in Texarkana, USA. I attended Texarkana College as a history, music, and dance student. At Stephen F. Austin SU, I studied history and sculpture. At The University of Dallas, I developed a love for and studied art history, classical literature, and philosophy.

I currently live in Dallas, Texas where I teach high school art. Creating in a multitude of disciplines continues to fuel a desire for a well-lived compassionate life.

Artist Statement

I create using collage, dance, painting, performance drawing, and writing. My artworks often incorporate starkly empty bucolic figures surrounded by either contrasting colorful or similarly white or clear spaces. These artworks explore mythos, vacuity, leisure, freedom, tranquility, relationship roles, and the interconnection between the individual, society, and the environment.
