An Lusk
I grew up in Texarkana, USA. I attended Texarkana College as a history, music, and dance student. At Stephen F. Austin SU, I studied history and sculpture. At The University of Dallas, I developed a love for and studied art history, classical literature, and philosophy.
I currently live in Dallas, Texas where I teach Art Appreciation and Humanities at Dallas College. Creating with various disciplines continues to fuel a desire for a well-lived compassionate life.
Ancient myths, folk art, and aesthetic objects inspire me. My drawings and paintings often include heroic, bucolic, comical, or absurd figures or compositions of basic Elements of Art with thin, assertive, and/or fun lines and vibrant colours in calm or empty spaces. These artworks explore themes of mythos, vacuity, leisure, freedom, tranquility, relationship roles, and the interconnection between the individual, society, and the environment.
